Each year we return to the Northwest Flower & Garden Show to introduce Scandinavian Garden Pavilions (a.k.a. “lusthus”) to Northwest garden aficionados, but this year was different. This year, 2015, we delivered a beautiful Herrgård 10 Pavilion as the centerpiece of the magnificent “Over The Moon” garden – winner of the 2015 Best In Show award, in addition to winning a Gold Medal.
Designed by Susan Thompson, APLD, Lisa Bauer and Katie Weber, the garden featured an oversized full moon, a pair of great horned owls and a sky full of stars setting the tone a romantic “night garden.” Large conifers and white birches framed our classic structure overlooking a field of flowering bulbs and colorful grasses in a rich tapestry of flora with accents of yellow, apricot and orange.
Inside the lusthus visitors were treated to a romantic vision created by Interior Designer Jason Dallas with majestic chairs, flowing curtains, furs, fluffy pillows and a telescope (for looking at the moon!)
The NWFGS is the Northwest’s largest garden show attracting attendees from as far away as Alaska, Canada and the Midwest. It is held each year at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle.
